Ranks and Structure

This post will outline the Organizational structure of Imminent Solutions Tactical Defense as well as the officially recognized rank structure. Additionally, information about time in grade requirements for enlisted personnel to gain eligibility for promotions is also provided.

1. Fleet Organization and chain of command.

This section will discuss the different command groups as well as their order of command authority.

-Fleet High Command - The purpose of High Command is to oversee all Departments and Divisions of Imminent Solutions Tactical Defense to ensure the organization stays on mission. High Command includes the High Admiral/General and Executive Officer Admiral/General who are the supreme commanders, their word is final on all matters.

High Command also includes command positions that can exercise no normal operation command authority. (In emergencies these Officers can fill an immediate leadership role during operations that they are qualified to ensure success.)

High Command also is comprised of the two most senior Non-Commissioned Officers in the Organization. The Command Master Chief Petty Officer and Marine Sergeant Major are the direct line of communication for enlisted personnel to high command. Flight command and Marine Command will field both positions at all times. These positions are trusted advisers and are afforded a level of respect by all commands regardless of rank.

-The 08th Judge Advocate Corps is the conflict resolution group of ISTD, they handle disciplinary actions and investigations. Department Head - Captain (Vacant)

-The Office of Diplomacy and Intelligence (Division 9) is led by a Rear Admiral/Major General and is in charge of providing trained diplomats to research and approve inter-fleet contracts as well as providing Intelligence officers for negotiating extralegal points of contact and negotiation. In the event of Intelligence Officers being placed into a combat situation beyond their control, the Department leader is authorized to order the CAG to launch the QRF and ParaRescue units.

2. Divisional Command - All Divisional Commands are led by a Flag Officer and Executive Officer of Line or Flag rank depending on the needs of the Division. These ranks are the baseline, in the future, these ranks are subject to be increased as the need arises. Command is exercised according to expertise, for example, if both the Strike and Marine Commanders are stuck in a space battle the Marine Commander cannot assume command of fleet operations, and the same applies to the Air Division Commander cannot take command from the Marine General in a ground combat scenario.
